TYQOON

TYQOON is an ecommerce marketplace that offers a unique incentive to users who hold “TYQOON Credits” that allows them to utilize those credits in order to offset the price of goods on the shop.

They are also one of the first major ecommerce websites licensed to operate in China and accept crypto currencies as a form of payment.

Our Task

We were contracted to completely rebuild the front-end from the ground up. It had been previously built using a template which offered too many limitations for the platform to scale.

Our job was to remake the entire front end from scratch using Angular + Ionic framework.

This was approximately a 6 month effort which required a team of 10+ full time developers, animators, and designers.

Complete Redesign

Not only was our job to rebuild the site from scratch, we were also tasked with redesigning and modernizing the UI on desktop and mobile.

This doesn’t simply mean upgrading the visual look and feel of the app, but to also implement changes that result in increased sales.

This includes considerations such as:

  • Showing more products on a single view at once
  • Adjusting the layout to imply that there is further content below the fold
  • Optimizing navigation so the user doesn’t have to click so many times to get from product to checkout

The entire navigation component was refactored to have conditional headers; top and bottom navigation changes depending on the page the user is currently on.

LuckyCards

Our team was tasked with designing and developing a card game that acted as a loyalty program for returning customers of the TYQOON platform.

When users made certain actions or purchases on the site, they would earn “draws” which could be used on the card game to win prizes.

Our Process
  • Initial Design
  • UI Design
  • UX Flowchart
  • Animations
  • Development

Animations

All the animations and interactions were created using SVG animations and CSS animations.

The game is extremely light weight and optimized for slow mobile network connections.

All aspects were considered when designing this game including:

  • Slow API response = extend the shuffle loop animation
  • No API Response = Fallback to an error screen
  • Multi-Click prevention
  • Accidental Close Prevention

LuckySpin

Similar to LuckyCards, LuckySpin is another loyalty mechanic designed to keep users checking into the site daily.

Our job was to design a simple flow, create animations, and develop the game.
